Newcomb K-8 and Roosevelt ES were completely demolished in 2012 to make room for these two new state of the art schools. Both schools have been under construction over the last couple years and opened as planned this Fall, 2015 for the Long Beach Unified School District. Newcomb is a K-8 school with 47 classrooms that houses it’s 980 student population. This open double-story contemporary style campus creates a main street feel in the center of the campus for easy access and supervision. Access to the school for student drop off has also been updated to increase efficiency. Roosevelt ES is a K-5 school with approximately 47 classrooms for its 1100 student population. The compact site implemented  two story art deco buildings that tied the historic charm of the neighborhood with a modern, state of the art school. It also boasts an elevated deck for the playground over a subterranean parking garage for staff along with a common area in the center of the campus that creates easy supervision and safety for all.
