Ernest S. McBride, Sr. High School (ECATS)

The new $66.4M, 150,000 SF high school has 43 classrooms in seven buildings for a proposed school enrollment of 1,080 students.

There is an administration building (with a library on the second floor), a science building, two multi-story classroom buildings, a gymnasium, lecture hall and food services facility.

This CHPS high school has a high efficiency water cooler central plant, an energy management system, and a roof mounted photo voltaic system that may generate up to half of the facilities power needs.

With deep overhangs to protect windows from Southern exposure, northern light, operable windows (electronically connected to HVAC), automatic dimming light fixtures and water conservation fixtures, the new high school targets many of the Green Building techniques.
