Jessie Elwin Nelson Academy

The new 89,000 SF middle school was designed for approximately 850 students in grades 6 to 8 and has 31 classrooms, administration offices, a library/media center, gymnasium, health office, serving kitchen, multipurpose room and other support facilities. Outdoor facilities include a soccer field, five basketball courts and an open quad area with hardscape and landscape areas. The unique layout of the school allows for small gathering areas, energy efficient lighting and air conditioning, an emergency generator for power outages, water conservation fixtures, and the latest in energy management. The overall project was $45M. (Opened Fall 2012)
